A lot of these paintings have been received lukewarm - and thats because the series was rushed
and slightly trite (in hindsight.) The few paintings that did sell were pretty nice, meaning that
the few that made it to someone else's home were actually well picked. But where I failed myself
and everyone is that I rushed the works and had the mindset to make something people would
want to buy and make them cheap and fast. That was not the original concept. The original
concept was individuals in a community, with roots, histories, and stories - but you are not
supposed to know from where. Meaning I didn't want the viewer to know where they were
looking from. You could be laying beneath the tree looking up to the sky, you could be in the
middle looking out, you could be looking at them through from the side. The point was to see
stories in some vague place of being told, the point was to be slightly curious and want to know
more. Instead I rushed them through to make a buck - and I didn't make that many - and thats
where this story is right now.
